New in 2026: Stillness on the Water: Mindfulness at Wildcat Cove
This experience is an invitation to trade the pace of daily life for the contemplative nature of stand-up paddle boarding. Through the practice of mindfulness, we transform a simple outing into a moving meditation.
Whether you are stepping onto a board for the first time or are a seasoned paddler, our licensed mental health counselor associate, mindfulness-trained guide will support your journey. We invite you to embrace the art of “non-striving” on the water, there is no destination to reach and nowhere else you need to be. Our focus is simply being present to savor the quiet beauty of the bay.
What to Expect:
You will learn to navigate the water while practicing the “beginner’s mind,” a technique for letting go of stress and moving past the worries that often keep us from fully enjoying the outdoors.
-
The Route: We launch from the gentle, protected shores of Wildcat Cove, gliding into the calm waters of Chuckanut Bay .
-
The Wildlife: As we move with intention, we are often greeted by the local residents: curious sea otters and seals, patient blue herons, soaring eagles, and graceful jellyfish.
-
The Intent: This trip is designed to be both relaxing and awe-inspiring, cultivating a sense of pleasure through a deep connection with the natural world.
